Happy First Birthday!

Exactly one year ago today, I decided to launch the blog idea that was weighing heavy on my heart and in my mind. A platform to share the stories that warm my heart, the lessons I’ve learned (and continue to learn) and want to tell, the activities that motivate me and contribute to my happiness, and sharing cultural experiences was a big dream of mine.

It took me the whole day (and some prep and research weeks beforehand to learn website building basics) to open a Wordpress account, create a Facebook page, write my first blog post, and put it all out there for the world to see. Going public with a blog wasn’t (and isn’t) easy for me, but I knew I did the right thing when I went to bed with a big smile on my face that night.

Every comment, share, like, praiseful text, e-mail, phone call, or whichever method you use to communicate with me is much appreciated. I’m amazed that people care enough to read what I post and follow along with every story. Thank you so very much for caring. I truly mean it when I say you make my day.

As a birthday present, Big Sister Diaries got a little bit of a makeover. I hope you like the new and improved site. I’m in love with it all over again!

Over the next year, you can expect more stories, a little bit of a website expansion, and a few other things I’ve got in the works that I can’t wait to tell you all about.
